Our New Scented Candles Range!

IMG_7811

I’ve been quietly doing a lot of research into making my own line of scented candles. I LOVE candles and have been thinking about making my own range for a very long time.  So after an awful lot of research and an awful lot more testing I have finally added my very own Scented Candle range to my Portfolio.

I adore making them, its very therapeutic! When I’m in my studio I always have a candle burning as I feel it helps me prepare to start to paint and over the years it has become a ritual for me.   I’ve taken inspiration for the new candle range from the plants, flowers and herbs I illustrate in my own paintings – everything is connected and has a special meaning!  Memories of growing up in the north east and weekend adventures along Royal Deeside.  Picnics beside the River Dee and foraging for brambles up Scolty Hill.  I have infused all these memories, pictures, sounds, emotions and scent into the new collection and I hope they will transport you back in time too to enjoy your own precious moments and treasures memories!

Available in a range of sizes from our beautiful vintage style glass jars topped with a metal screw top lid and aluminium travel tins with modern minimal style labels, our candles fit into any style of home, making them the perfect gift.
Handy for any eventuality and spontaneous adventures either here in bonny Scotland or to pack in your suitcase for romantic getaways! Blended to ensure you get great scent, our candles are the ideal way to fill your home with luxurious fragrance.

Our Scented Candles are made using Soy Wax, Eco Wicks and premium fragrance/essential oil blends.  Hand Poured in Small Batches with love and attention to detail in our Studio in Aberdeen, Scotland.

A Fly Cup & A Blether about ‘What’s Your Story?’ with Tracey Johnston

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Join Aberdeen based artist Tracey Johnston for a Fly Cup and a Blether about her exhibition ‘What’s Your Story?’.
Hear about the stories behind the illustrations. Who was Margaret Penny and Why was she the first Scottish Petticoat Whaler? and Why were the women of the Aberdeen Herring Fleet so important?
Members of the public are invited to share their cultural reminiscences of the Granite City and be a part of this exhibition by growing a ‘Memory Wall’. Why Aberdeen? What makes us stay? What makes us leave? And what makes us come home?

Tweet your reminiscences to @ClaremontG or Email claremontgallery@aol.co.uk

The exhibition runs until Friday 3rd Febuary.
Part of Seventeen Commissions

Rosie’s still not sure about the new cat in town!

For the past few weeks I have been painting a concrete replica cat for the Cat Parade Project.  This Civic Art Project aims to raise funds for local charities and commemorate 100 years of Rotary International in Aberdeen.  The concrete replicas of Kelly’s Cat are being decorated by local artists and will be on display at Waterstones on Union Bridge, Aberdeen until 27th September.  Thereafter they will be for auction at the Marcliffe Hotel where you can bid for your favourite.

More details at http://www.catparade.com  where you can also vote for your favourite!
